All thanks to Dana! : )

I have found the best blog EVER!

It is produced by a lady called Dana who has provided easy to follow, clear tutorials for the most wonderful clothes. In fact, she has tutorials for other things too, but it is her Shirt Dress and Market Skirt tutorials I have followed to create the two pieces displayed here.

THANK YOU DANA! x

Finished bag and 'Hearty'

My latest two crafts! The finished bag as first pictured below. Decided to change the straps... I am contemplating this as a gift for my friend, as I've seen her go a bit crazy over Cath Kidston before.

And - little Hearty! I need to practice sewing around curved edges, as you can see. His arms were also supposed to pointed upwards, not downwards. BUT, I am learning all the time :)

My lovely friend Fiona gave me a sewing tutorial yesterday, so I can now garter and pearl. It's very relaxing, and looking at some of the brilliant clothes she has made has really inspired me to give knitting a go.

I also tried sewing a zip this morning. I have given up for now as it just wasn't working. Not sure why - the zip was on the zip feeder but it just kept getting stuck. Hmmm. Very annoying!

Crafts of the day!

Sewing machine craft - a new shopping bag (which, granted, needs finishing at the top). This was my first patchwork attempt, on to the next!

And a hair clip each for the girls. These are SO simple to make, thanks to a tutorial by Cool Mummy. I think a few friends will be finding these in their Christmas goody bags! I'm considering how to make them in to a necklace too.

Latest hobby

I'm a bit of a 'flitter'. By which I mean, I get very enthusiastic and interested in particular hobby, cause etc and then... lose interest!

The latest one is sewing. I have a brand new sewing machine which is VERY exciting! so, I thought I would share photos some of the bits and pieces I have made this week. Nothing very taxing, and mostly hand sewn, but I am proud nonetheless! This week I have created, a bag for Em, a badge for Ada, some soft blocks for a friends daughter, a Russian doll soft toy and a fabric flower hair clip. Oh, and a little bag I need to find a use for made from fused plastic bags.

I'm hoping I can look back on this in a few months time and see a vast improvement in my skill!

So, this is me.

Well hello! This blog is all about me, me me. How very self involved!

Thought I'd start with a picture, not that anybody is actually likely to read this thing are they?

I'm a happy young lady. Very lucky to have a beautiful family to share my life with, I shall add pictures of them momentarily. I live by the seaside, and oh do I LOVE to be beside the seaside, yes I do love to be beside the sea.

Although saying that, I haven't been to the beach for weeks. Need to sort that out!

This is my little girl.

A constant source of amazement.

We both get annoyed easily.

Also known as Pal the puppy.

I'm trying to learn not to get angry when she does.

A smile that melts my heart.

Wise beyond her years.

Reminds me of myself.

Not always a good thing.

Couldn't live without her.

My man! Seeing him smile really lights up my day. I can't adequately describe how it makes me feel, but i'll try! I suppose, and this might make you throw up... It makes me feel content to the point of being complete. When he's smiling I know everything's ok, because that's one of my main aims sorted - he's happy.

I am fortunate we have lots of smiles in our house!

I am fortunate full stop. I live in a happy home, I'm about to start my career in childcare, I've just started sewing with my much loved sewing machine, my daughter is happy little soul, I don't want for anything.

I still have hormones though ;)
